Chino

Team LMS successfully secured 1 st position in the Universal Public Toilet design competition, a wonderful collaboration between the Society of Nepalese Architects (SONA) and the Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City and were honored by the presence of Mr. Gopal Hamal, the esteemed Mayor of DSMC, who recognized our achievements.

Designed in dialogue with prevailing community, ‘chino’ is a little more than a toilet. The core concept of the project revolves around the curved identity wall, which reflects the shadows of local culture, while binding the functional aspects with an artistic touch of the place.
Multitude of spaces are allocated which promotes public interaction and a sense of belonging, further extending its function.
This toilet complex and its identity wall can be constructed for every region, added that every community can make the identity wall their own, through their art, culture and identity.
